Julius Abure The National Treasurer of the Labour Party (LP), Mrs Oluchi Oparah, has accused the party's National Chairman, Julius Abure, of anti-party activities.
Mrs. Oparah who unveiled the allegation while featuring on an Arise TV Interview Programme accused the National Chairman of the party of secretly having political deals with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, ahead of the Edo State Governorship Election.
Mrs. Oparah who, yesterday, challenged Abure to account for about N3.5 billion party fund being money accrued from sales of forms and donations by party loyalists, also accused the National Chairman of the party of denying her the rights to perform the function of her office as the party's treasurer.
She, however, described Abure and his fellows as "masters at disseminating wrong information, when she was informed that Abure has always stated that Mrs Oparah was being used by political opponents to distract LP.
Mrs. Oparah said: “I want to state the fact that they are masters at disseminating wrong information. What do I mean by that? When issues like these are being played out, the right thing to be done is to carry out an investigation. And I am speaking from a place of strength, asking that the right thing should be done.
“Now, they are always quick to accuse someone of being sponsored, especially from the opposition party. I want to State clearly here that if there’s anybody that has any alliance with the opposition, it’s the National Chairman of the Labour Party. Let him come out and say he hasn’t been in talks with the government of Edo State.”
