Senior Pastor and leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Monday, insisted that the economic hardships facing Nigeria may persist till 2026.

Primate Ayodele stated this in a warning statement released by the Pastor's media assistant, Osho Oluwatosin, on Monday, February 12th, 2024.

Primate Ayodele encouraged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to quickly address the economic failure as citizens tend to face more severe economic hardships shortly.

Primate Ayodele suggested that economic hardships May continue till 2026 before Nigerians will start to feel relief. Also, he encouraged President Tinubu to resolve the economic hardships as Naira may slip further against the dollar with the possibility of a dollar selling for N1,700 and a bag of rice to sell for N90,000.

To relieve the economic hardships, Primate Ayodele asked President Tinubu's administration to put security in place, crash the price of food commodities, provide enough electricity, and promote local products to crash dollars.

He said, "If Tinubu’s government doesn’t do the needful, the economy will not balance till 2026.

“They need to put security in place, reduce the prices of food commodities, provide enough electricity, and promote local products. This will help the government and will crash the dollar.

"All these measures they are taking will not work; it will just lead to inflation. If they don’t do the right thing, Nigeria will buy dollars for N1,700, a bag of rice will cost N90,000 and it will kill the economy. They don’t seem to have ideas that will not help the situation."

Economic hardships in Nigeria have worsened in recent times as prices of food items and essential commodities skyrocketed for no cause.
