Portable Despite the public reactions against the invitation extended to popular Nigerian pop star, songwriter, and wrapper, Habib Olalomi Oyegbile who is popularly known as Portable or otherwise called Dr. Zeh or werey olorin [crazy singer] by his fan to lead a branch of Celestial Church of God in Lagos State through the year's Praise Night, Portable was fully available at the event yesterday and discharged his duty to the taste of the congregation.
Recall that, recently, The Round Table reported that a Celestial Church of God in Lagos has invited Portable and a popular Yoruba Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma to lead its congregation through the 2023 Praise Night program. The news was grossly condemned by Nigerians with claims that Portable's style of music is not Godly.
However, Portable has since insisted that he must perform at the event because he has collected money for the program. He stated that the church management should not judge him by his physique, claiming he is Godly.
Like it was a joke, the congregation of worshipers at the Celestial Church of Christ, Goshen Land Cathedral, praise night on Friday went agog on sighting the popular singer, Portable, who later led the congregation through the Praise Night.
Earlier, the lead pastor at the branch of the Goshen Land Cathedral, Aderemi Dabiri, defended their invitation to Portable and Pasuma as a means to gain more converts who would only invite the event because of the presence of the musicians.
