Daily Trust Report The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reacted to trending news that it has devalued Naira against the dollar.
It was early reported by the Daily Trust that an incident within the CBN revealed to the news outlet that the ape bank in the country has devalued Naira against the dollar to exchange officially at 630 nairas against one dollar.
Disclaiming the rumor, the Acting Director of Corporate Communications of the CBN, Dr. Isah AbdulMumin stated that the exchange rate remains N465 to $1 at the Investors' and Exporters' (I & E) traded windows as of this morning.
CBN admonished the public to disregard the peddling of rumors about the naira devaluation as the corporation claimed the source of the trending news about the devaluation was meant to cause panic in the market.
Dr. Isah AbdulMumin who boasted that the Naira to dollar exchange rate has been stable for a while on the I&E windows, warned news outlets to always confirm their stories with the right source before publishing it.
