Siminalayi Fubara Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is presently presenting the 2024 budget of the state to four members of the Rivers State House of Assembly inside Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt.
The presentation of 2024 Rivers State Appropriation Bill is being presented to five members of the 32-member State House of Assembly.
At the 2024 Rivers State Budget Presentation, only four lawmakers were present and one of them was late. The four members are those who are loyal to the state Governor Fubara.
27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who are loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike and announced their defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC), recently, were locked out of the 2024 Budget presentation. Recall that Governor Fubara recently summoned his Executive Council members to a meeting at the Government House where the state EXCO gave approval to about N800 billion 2024 budget for the state.
Recall that The Round Table earlier reported that the state's House of Assembly Complex was being demolished for unstated reason, early this morning.
The recent political developments in Rivers State are a result of the controversy between the State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
