Bobi, the oldest dog in the world Bobi, the world's oldest dog that ever lived has reportedly died at the age of 31. Bobi was pronounced dead at an animal hospital in Portugal, last week.
According to the Guinness World Records, Bobi died last week Monday, October 16th, 2023 after spending 31 years 165 days with its lovely Portuguese owner, Leonel Costa, and his family in the village of Conqueiros.
Bobi which marked its 31st birthday anniversary in May 2023 was honored by its owner, Costa with a birthday party attended by not less than 100 people.
Costa stated that he took care of the dog and ensured it was never tied up throughout its lifetime.
“Bobi was never tied up or leashed, drank plenty of water, and extensively ate human food. Bobi was calm and lived a peaceful life,” Costa stated.
Costa said there was a time when his dad and siblings showed disaffection toward the dog when it was ill and his father like every older person in Portugal believed the dog should be buried in a whole, he took away the dog, hid it from his siblings and kept it in a stack of wood where he took care of the dog until he was able to take it to the animal hospital where it later gave up.
