The current Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Hassan Kukah, is currently meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the country.

Bishop Kukah is known for speaking truth to power with no fear. He has recently spoken about the state of the Nigerian economy and the need by the federal government of Nigeria to address the inflation.
