August Meeting Igbo Women living home and abroad will be converging together at their various indigenous communities to discuss topics that closely related their personal growth and community development.
Today, Igbo women are currently converging at their various communities for August Meeting and discussions towards the growth and development of the Southeast geopolitical zone take center stage in their meeting.
While Igbo women at their various converging communities may doffer in the subjects of their discussion, their 2023 August Meeting will not be impactful if the congregation fail to give priority to the incessant declaration of sit-at-home, every Monday or any day in any part of the geopolitical zone by either the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), or any other militant group terrorizing the region.
IPOB has been declaring days long of sit-at-home, paralyzing business and other activities across the five states that make the region.
In their August Meeting, the Igbo women who travelled down from their various places of living, mostly those living outside the region should enlighten their fellows why it is more economic deadly for the region to keep praise-singing their kids who sponsor the sit-at-home militia protest.
The Igbo women living within the region should inform their counterparts living out of the region to stop backing the incessant sit-at-home campaign by their kids.
Every woman in Igbo land should stand against the sit-at-home menace by the IPOB, stand against the insecurity menace bringing down the region and call upon their male counterparts to replicate the same.
August meeting is an annual congress held by the Igbo women in August, it is a massive homecoming whereby Igbo women in the diaspora and the cities travel back to their matrimonial villages to meet with their local counterparts to discuss matters about the community development, Conflict Management, human development, and other socio-economic and cultural initiatives. The meeting is a three days ritual and it is divided into three parts, the first is held at the village level, the second within the community, and the third is held in churches where thanksgivings are held to mark the end of the meeting.
