Asake Nigerian popular skitmaker and now singer, Oderhwo Joseph Efe, better known as Carter Efe, has revealed what a fellow Nigerian pop star, Ahmed Ololade who is popularly known as Asake, went through during his recent performance in London's O2 arena.
Carter Efe who was speaking against the poor treatment Western music executives give to African artists, disclosed that Asake was humiliated in front of his fans while performing, last year, at the popular London O2 arena.
Carter Efe disclosed that when Asake was at the peak of the performance, the management of London's O2 arena forcefully took him off the stage, chased him out of the hall, and switched off the power supply to the hall to send his fans away, although another source stated that Asake had already overspent his time when the incident occurred.
He said “The management of 02 Arena turned off the lights during Asake’s performance at the venue last year. Westerners treat us anyhow, and we still go back to them. They chased Asake off the stage. They put off the lights. I’m not lying.”
Carter Efe, emotionally calls for his African colleagues to embrace what they have and stop patronizing where their fame is being seen as a threat.
Asake, who is also called "Mr. Money" by his fans, was signed to [Yahoo Boys No Laptop] YBNL Nation in February 2022. That same month, he released his debut extended play, Ololade, which featured his breakthrough song 'Omo Ope' featuring Olamide, and the single 'Sungba'
