Dangote Cement Truck Hijacked The economic hardships biting Nigerians might have taken unimaginable dimensions as residents resort to the illegal hijacking of Dangote trucks loaded with bags of cement.
A source disclosed to The Round Table that some youths in the Ankpa community of Kogi State have hijacked a Dangote truck fully loaded with bags of cement and all the bags of cement have been looted.
The source claimed that the youths were angry at allegations that the Group Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, had hands in the list of a few citizens sabotaging the country's economy for their gain.
Some of the residents of Kogi State who passed remarks on the incident condemned the attack saying the owner of the cement might not be Dangote, and it could be an ordinary citizen. However, the majority of the youths believe there are no ordinals in Nigeria who can buy a full load of Dangote truck cement, mostly at this time.
Recall that The Round Table recently reported that some residents in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, took to the streets to protest the economic hardships facing Nigeria which include insecurity and food scarcity as the prices of food items and other essential commodities have soared in the market.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday, met with the 36 state governors to deliberate on the ways to tow, bidding to minimize the hardships and battle food scarcity in the country
To also tackle the sudden rise in the price of cement and other building materials, President Tinubu had scheduled a meeting for next week with the leaders in the Cement manufacturing industry, including Aliko Dangote.
