The Ondo State Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, Raimi Olayiwola Aminu has resigned.
His resignation followed the death of his principal, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu who died yesterday, Wednesday, December 27, 2023, after a prolonged illness.
Although some media platforms reported Akeredolu died in a secret residence in Lagos, his son, Babajide Akeredolu, claimed he died in his sleep at a hospital in Germany.
Aminu made his resignation known in a letter addressed to the Secretary of the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu. Aminu said his decision is based on his conscience following the death of his leader and ‘dear boss, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON.
He wrote, “I sincerely thank our dear Arakunrin and the good people of the State for the opportunity to serve in his cabinet as Senior Special Assistant on Lands & Infrastructure, Special Adviser on Lands, Works and Infrastructure, and Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing.”
Recall that The Round Table has also reported that Richard Olajide, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Akeredolu and Dare Aragbaiye, the Special Adviser to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on Union Matters and Special Duties have earlier tendered their resignation letters following the death of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
