Lucky Aiyedatiwa Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has allegedly commenced Consultations with leaders of his political party, All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the 2024 off-cycle Governorship Election in Ondo State.
A source revealed that Governor Aiyedatiwa was at the private residence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, yesterday, located at the Bourdillion, Ikoyi to brief the president about his intentions to vie for the governorship seat of Ondo State in 2024.
Although reacting to the speculated news of Aiyedatiwa commencing plans to contest the 2024 Governorship Election I Ondo State, one of his aides debunked the claim and stated that Aiyedatiwa was in Lagos residence of President Tinubu to officially brief him about the death of his boss, Rótìmí Akeredolu, who died as a sitting Governor on Wednesday December 27, 2023, after battling with a prolonged ailment.
Recall that The Round Table, yesterday, reported that Governor Aiyedatiwa visited the Ibadan private residence of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to commiserate with the family of the former Governor.
Our source revealed that Governor Aiyedatiwa who was sworn in on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, following the death of Governor Akeredolu, proceeded to Lagos residence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from the Jericho private residence of the late Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
A source also revealed that Babajide Akeredolu, son of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, also visited President Tinubu yesterday to brief him about the family's burial arrangement for his late dad.
Our source further revealed that, even though Governor Aiyedatiwa was earlier at the Jericho private residence of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, his son, Babajide Akeredolu did not join the Governor's convoy despite going to the same destination.
