Rauf Aregbesola After the Osun State faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) loyal to former Governor of the State and the immediate past Minister of Interior, Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola worked against the interests of the party during the July 2022 Governorship and 2023 General election in the state, some of the loyalists of the former governor have approached the mainstream of the party in Osun State, which is loyal to the immediate past governor Gboyega Oyetola to attend the homecoming ceremony the pro-Aregbesola group has planned for their principal.
Organizers of the homecoming ceremony who grouped themselves under the aegis of "Friends of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola (FORA)" have sent an invitation letter to the Acting State Party Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Tajudeen Lawal to attend the homecoming ceremony for the former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.
According to the Letter that was signed by the former Speaker of the 7th and 8th House of Assembly in Osun State, Rt. Hon Najeem Folasayo Salam, the homecoming ceremony of Aregbesola will span through five days, and APC Acting State Chairman and 26 State Working Committee of the party are all invited to the event.
The homecoming ceremony for Aregbesola which starts with reception on Wednesday June 7th at the palace of Owa Obokun, Ilesa and Freedom Park, Osogbo, and will come to an end on Sunday June 11th with Thanksgiving service at the Union Baptist Church, Odiolowo, Osogbo.
A colloquium is scheduled to hold on Thursday June 8th with Jumu'a service on Friday June 9th at Osogbo Central Mosque. Grand reception of the ceremony will hold on Saturday June 9th at the Distinguish Events Centre, Osogbo.
Aregbesola's Homecoming Invite
Former Governor Rauf Aregbesola mobilized his followers heavily against the second term election of his successor, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola and refused to participate in the 2023 General Election where his erstwhile political leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was a presidential candidate. There were allegations that Aregbesola also worked against the interest of the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress at the 2022 Governorship tribunal, up to the Supreme Court using his influence at the Federal level.
