AFCON: MTN Hosts Super Eagles Of Nigeria In Abuja
MTN Hosts Super Eagles
Nigeria's leading telecommunication company, MTN, is currently hosting the Super Eagles team at a party in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.

Super Eagles emerged runner-up at the just concluded Cote D'Ivoire 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

Super Eagles was defeated by Ivory Coast in a 2-1 scoreline in the final match of the competition.

Super Eagles had faced tough teams right from the group stage on its way to making it to the final.

Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by Equatorial Guinea in its opening match of the AFCON as it advanced to defeat the host nation, Ivory Coast, in its match day 2, and another 1-0 scoreline winning record in the match day 3 against Guinea Bissau.

While finishing top of its group with seven points and two clean sheets, Super Eagles eliminated Cameroon in the round of 16 and advanced to the semi-final after sending Angola back home in the Quarter-Final Stage.

South Africa's late goal posed a threat to the chances of the Super Eagles to make it to the final but the day later bowed for the Eagles in the penalty shootouts which was won by Nigeria on a 4-2 penalty shootouts scoreline.

Finishing a runner-up, Super Eagles went home from Ivory Coast with $4 million and Silver medals.
