23-Year-Old Matched Father to Death in Kwara

A 23-year-old man, Saidi Musa Elemosho, in Share, Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state has been arrested and charged to court for killing his father.

Saidi was said to have been upset when his father, Chief Musa who is the Elemosho of Share Land in Kwara State, was cursing him while sitting in the sitting room.

Saidi picked a matchet and continuously hit his father, Chief Elemosho, on the head until he died. After killing his father, Saidi ran to a mountain in Share.

After Saidi was arrested by the police, he was charged with culpable homicide before Magistrate Muhammed Dauki.

"The police prosecutor, Sergeant Abdullah Sanni, informed the court that the matter is not ordinarily bailable because it is a culpable homicide, urging the court to consider the motion ex parte attached to the FIR and order the defendant to be kept in the correctional facility center," The Nigeria Tribune reported.

Magistrate Dasuki, in his short ruling, ordered Saidi’s remand while the matter was adjourned to January 9, 2024.
