Yeukai Dandara A 14-year-old Zimbabwean girl, Yeukai Dandara, reportedly died a few days after she gave birth to a set of twins.
Yeukai Dandara, whose parents were said to be late, was impregnated by her 24-year-old nephew, Tatenda Zhanje.
Yeukai's unfortunate pregnancy was keto silent after a family meeting was called and a resolution was made to sweep the matter under.
However, the immediate families of Dandara and Zhanje have locked horns, with the former demanding compensation from the latter before they could bury Yeukai.
Yeukai's family was demandingly for US$1,500 before reducing it to one cow and seven goats.
“Yeukai’s parents are both late. She was sexually abused by Tatenda several times until she fell pregnant while they were staying at Dandara village in Murehwa," a source claimed.
“The two relocated to Glenwood suburb in Harare following a family meeting to conceal the incestuous affair and pregnancy from villagers.
“Tatenda found a part-time job as a loader in town, but he will struggle to look after the babies.”
Tatenda speaking to a local news media on the death of Yeukai, said "Yeukai had given birth through a C-section at Sally Mugabe Maternity Hospital.
“She did not show any signs of complications after giving birth.
“Her body is expected to undergo a post-mortem tomorrow (today) before we take it for burial in Murehwa,” he added.
However, Yeukai's village people are now aware of the incident and they are threatening to protest against the Zhanje family for covering up a criminal act conducted by their son.
The cause of Yeukai's death was not disclosed but it may not be unconnected to his age and the stress of pregnancy.
